Hospitality partner, Levy UK are looking for a Head of People Operations to join the team at the world famous, home of Tennis, Wimbledon!
Overall Purpose of the Job
The role will work across all core people disciplines to ensure processes are in place to deploy our workforce effectively, maintaining high levels of colleague satisfaction whilst remaining aligned with strategy and company goals.
Responsible for the overall delivery of the People Operations function within the venue, liaising with the senior management team to deliver best practice to drive change and constantly deliver business objectives. To provide strong leadership whilst delivering and managing the People Operations function. To ensure the smooth planning and delivery of a first-class service to the internal customer base and all customers within the venue. Ensuring that all colleagues are recruited and trained to Food & Drink at Wimbledon standards to deliver a 5-star service to all our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Management
Overall responsibility for the People function, across the venue
Lead constructive 121’s with all HOD’s to discuss people activity and instil and maintain a people first culture
Promote a cooperative work climate, maximising productivity and morale
Be able to interact effectively across a diverse client base both direct and third party
Manage the relationship with partners, agencies and Constellation where required
Challenge and continually review variable labour specifications within all areas to assess cost effectiveness
Challenge the way things are done and continually improve
Operations
Provide support to the senior management team on all employee relation issues, in conjunction with HR Support Centre and HR Business Partner
Support all performance management and succession planning within the venue in conjunction with HR & L & D support
Remain perceptive to innovative ideas and pursue them in a positive manner
Act as a central point of contact for employee queries on HR policies and procedures
Assist at grievances and disciplinary investigations and hearings as required and in conjunction with HR Support Central/HR Business Partner
Ensure the correct starter paperwork and RTW is on file for all employees and casual workers, in line with Levy standard
Hold regular open-door HR surgery as appropriate
Recruitment & Training
Build, lead and manage an effective team with clear recruitment objectives and plans that are updated and maintained
Lead and manage recruitment of variable team members for the business, recruiting the best to deliver a first-class operation
Collaborate with HOD’s, Head of L&D, and L & D Business Partner to identify training needs and drive development of high performers
Support the Head of Operations and HR Business Partner with a talent matrix across the business
Support HOD’s to drive and implement people centric plans and activity in line with the HR core signatures
To support the retention plan for your business
Working with the Levy HR and L & D Business Partners, to ensure there is a live annual training and development plan in place for the senior management team
Provide support to onsite apprentices
Finance
Support the team with all aspects of event labour scheduling to address forecast and actual labour spends
Work to develop and advise on action plans to reduce labour turnover and improve retention amongst employees
Manage and take ownership for all costs associated with the people operation function under your management
Ensure all weekly payroll is processed and signed off within the deadline and in line with company policy
Manage and deliver weekly payroll for all variable staff, to ensure all colleagues are paid correctly and on time
Health & Safety
Maintain H&S compliance and be actively involved with H&S meetings
Ensure H&S training is completed in accordance with legal and company requirements (including Responsible Service of Alcohol)
Personally, demonstrate that you take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others
